Study Links Real-Time EHR Alerts With Fewer Complications, Lower Costs
Researchers from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Optum Advisory Services recently conducted a study that found links between real-time electronic health record (EHR) alerts and fewer medical complications and lower medical costs. The researchers discovered this by analyzing the messages that clinical professionals receive in their EHR systems alerting them that their medical instructions are deviating from evidence-based guidelines.
