CMS Picks Six Medicare Part D Plans For Enhanced Medication Therapy Management Model

Editorial Note: On October 3, 2016, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the six stand-alone Medicare Part D plans (PDPs) that will participate in the enhanced Medication Therapy Management (MTM) model. The Enhanced MTM model test will begin January 1, 2017 with a five-year performance period. The six Part D sponsors operate a total of 22 Plan Benefit Packages and provide benefits to an estimated 1.6 million beneficiaries in eligible Part D Regions will participate in the first year of the model.
