Big Gets Even Bigger
There was big news this week in the health and human services sector, with the announcement that two major provider organizations serving consumers with complex needs are exploring a potential merger. Elwyn and Merakey signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to create a $1 billion combined organization (see Elwyn-Merakey Merger Would Create $1 Billion Nonprofit Providing Services For Autism And Intellectual Disabilities). The combined operations would span 16 states, employ more than 12,000 people, and serve 55,000 consumers.
