Last weekend I took a look at the population of consumers who are using a disproportionate share of resources – superutilizers (see Are Superutilizers Your New Market?) – and the opportunity that this may represent for specialist organizations. If your organization is heading in this direction and thinking of offering a new service for a payer, the first challenge is defining who exactly among your consumer population are the superutilizers of interest.
