Taking Social Needs To Scale
Interest in addressing health-related social needs (HRSNs) of consumers is growing as the body of research about costs of not addressing those needs grows more robust (see The U.S. Playbook To Address Social Determinants Of Health). And five domains of social determinants of health (SDOH)—food insecurity, housing instability, transportation needs, difficulty paying utilities, and interpersonal safety—have been introduced or proposed in 21 federal programs or initiatives.
