Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD);has been referred to as the "gold standard" (see;Facing Addiction In America: The Surgeon General’s Spotlight On Opioids) for treatment. But that endorsement hasn’t been enough to drive the adoption of MAT.
