I recently took some time to review the National Academy For State Health Policy’s (NASHP) coverage of their 2024 aging pre-conference event (see;An Aging America: Priorities And Policy Innovations). Not surprising was the market context information: over;4.1 million people turned 65 in 2024 and by 2034 the nation will have more 65+ population than children. And more than half of the people turning 65 today will need some long-term services and supports (LTSS)—services that are primarily funded by Medicaid.
But, there were a few surprises in their coverage of the LTSS . . .
