The Social Determinants Opportunity
The past week we've seen a blitz of new research on the effects of social determinants and lifestyle on health. Processed foods appear to cause cognitive decline (see Cognitive Decline Linked To Ultraprocessed Food, Study Finds). Exercise appears to delay dementia (see Chores, Exercise, And Social Visits Linked To Lower Risk Of Dementia). Diet has been tied to depression (see Diet For Mental Health: Inflammatory Food Increases Chances Of Depression, Claims Study). People with housing have been found to be better able to manage their diabetes (see Project-Based Housing Linked To Reductions In Uncontrolled Diabetes).
