The Changing Medicaid Health Home Market
Overall enrollment in Medicaid health homes—introduced in 2010 with passage of the Patient Protection And Accountable Care Act (ACA) to improve care coordination for consumers with complex health needs—declined from 2018 to 2019. During that time period, the number of Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in health homes fell from 595,430 consumers to 788,246 consumers.
