Florida DCF Awards Devereux $125 Million Community-Based Child Welfare Lead Agency Contract
On November 1, 2013, Devereux Community Based Care of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast (Devereux CBC), started a five-year contract valued at $125 million with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to serve as the community-based care lead child welfare agency in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties in Southeastern Florida, Circuit 19. The initial contract term runs through June 30, 2018, followed by a renewal period of up to five years. The contract incumbent was United for Families, Inc., which had held the contract since December 2003.
