CMS Opens Provider Organization Registration for Electronic Health Record Incentive Programs

On January 3, 2011, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) started registration for the Medicare and Medicaid electronic health record (EHR) incentive programs. The programs are available for eligible health care professionals and eligible hospitals who wish to participate in the Medicare or Medicaid EHR incentive programs. Professionals that are eligible to participate in both the Medicare or Medicaid EHR incentive programs must chose which one they wish to participate in when they register.
