January 14, 2002 Joe Nuñez Joins DHHS as Secretary's Regional Representative for Denver Region Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Secretary Tommy G. Thompson announced in January 2002 that he appointed Joe Nuñez as his regional representative for region VIII, based in Denver, Colorado. In his new position, which he began on December 31, 2001, Mr. Nuñez will be the secretary's direct representative responsible for guidance and coordination of DHHS policies in the region.
