Maine Medicaid Preparing for Shift to Managed Care

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire – Strategic Health Care News In May 2011, Maine Medicaid plans to release a request for proposals seeking a handful of managed care organizations to operate MaineCare starting in July 2012. The shift is being guided by MaineCare’s director Tony Marple. The initiative will be focused on improving the health of MaineCare members. A key component of the project—creating and monitoring the quality measurements—will be led by MaineCare’s new medical director, Dora Ann Mills, M.D., who started January 4, 2011.
