30% Of Adults Delay Medical Treatment Due To Cost
About 30% of adults in the United States report that during the past year either they or a family member have delayed medication treatment due to financial reasons. According to Gallup Polls, this statistic has reminded relatively stable since 2005; between 2001 and 2004, only 19% - 24% of adults reported delaying medical treatment due to cost. The uninsured, low-income Americans, younger Americans, and those with less serious conditions were all more likely to delay treatment due to cost.
