Wellpoint Planning Nationwide Roll Out Of LiveHealth Online Telemedicine Program

Between 2013 and 2014, health insurance company WellPoint is planning to roll out its new LiveHealth Online telemedicine program nationwide. The program provides live audio/video consultations with physicians; encounters can take place from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM at the patient’s home or workplace using a computer and webcam. Following the online consultation, the physician will be able to send a prescription to the patient’s preferred pharmacy and will be able to send records to the patient’s primary care physician. LiveHealth Online will launch in California and Ohio during the first quarter of 2013 . . .
