January 23, 2006 San Mateo County, California, Files Lawsuit Against ResCare Home for the Disabled  San Mateo County officials filed a lawsuit on January 10, 2006, against the ResCare Home for the Disabled in Redwood City, California, and several employees for an incident that occurred in May of 2004. The lawsuit claims that an untrained caregiver left a 51-year-old developmentally disabled women in a 130-degree shower for an extended period of time, causing second and third degree burns.
