January 24, 2000 Report Links Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder to Dementia In WW II and Korean War Vets A new study suggests that increasing numbers of World War II and Korean War combat veterans are displaying symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) linked to severe dementia. In a number of instances, paranoid "re-enactments" of combat situations have caused veterans to harm caregivers, family members, and others.
