In a number of instances, paranoid "re-enactments" of combat situations have caused veterans to harm caregivers, family members, and others. According to Dr. Deirdre Johnston, a psychiatrist at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, these events are associated with a recent history of nightmares of wartime experiences . . .
