National Health Care Expenses For U.S. Civilian Non-Institutionalized Population Top $1.33 Trillion; 5.5% Increase Between 2009 & 2011
In 2011, the civilian non-institutionalized population in the United States had health care expenses of $1.33 trillion. Health care expenses for this population have increased by 5.5% from the $1.26 trillion in health care expenses in 2009. The mean per person expense in 2011 was $5,056 in 2011, up 4.1% from the mean per person expense of $4,855 in 2009.
