Harvard Program Integrates Behavioral Health Into Primary Care Via Embedded Mental Health Staff & Telehealth Consultations
The Harvard Medical School Center (HMS) for Primary Care (Center) is implementing a new three-pronged program to integrate behavioral health into primary care via a stepped-care model that features embedded mental health staff and telehealth consultations. Primary care practices will have a network of embedded staff to provide mental health screening, evaluation, and counseling. Physicians in the primary care practices will have telehealth access to mental health specialists for consultations about individual patients.
