219 Mergers & Acquisitions Among Health Information Technology Companies in First Three Quarters of 2011
During the first three quarters of calendar year 2011, there were 219 mergers and acquisitions related to health information technology. The 219 transactions had an aggregate value of $10.3 billion. During the same period in 2010, there were 178 transactions, with an aggregate value of $9.8 billion. The largest deal during the 2011 period was Blackstone Group’s announced third quarter acquisition of Emdeon for $3.03 billion.
