U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Recommends Research on Three Behavioral Health Topics—Obesity Counseling, Prevention of Child Abuse & Screening for Illicit Drug Use
In its first annual report to Congress, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommended additional research be conducted on three behavioral health topics—obesity counseling, interventions to prevent child abuse and neglect, and screening for illicit drug use—to close evidence gaps for clinical preventive services. In prioritizing certain topics for additional research, USPSTF anticipates being able to develop recommendations for related preventive services.
