OPEN MINDS On-Line News The Ann Storck Center (Center) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is continuing with a long-range plan to raise funds to complete Project HOPE (Home of Personal Excellence)” as a second assistive living technology-enabled “Gizmo” House for consumers with developmental disabilities. The plans for Project HOPE have been advancing since 1998 when the Center purchased property zoned for a group home near the center grounds. The Project HOPE capital campaign to raise $500,000 has continued despite funding uncertainty for the Center due to the state of Florida’s cuts in reimbursement for personal care . . .
