CMS Awards 23 States $306 Million In CHIP Bonuses
On December 19, 2012, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it had awarded nearly $306 million in fiscal year (FY) 2012 Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA) performance bonuses to 23 states. Awards ranged from just under $1.5 million for Idaho to nearly $43 million for Colorado. The states receiving the bonuses were Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
