AMA Urges Members To Report Payer CPT Violations

On January 7 and January 8, 2013, the American Medical Association (AMA) released two Practice Management Alerts that encourage providers to report if payers are either creating new definitions for the 2013 Current Procedural Technology (CPT), or not accepting claims submissions for those codes. Both activities are considered violations to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
