February 19, 2001 Michigan's Oakland County Mental Health Authority Outsources Direct Services The Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority (OCCMHA) in Pontiac, Michigan recently went through a restructuring process, which involved redesigning the organization to move away from traditional managed care practices to more appropriate strategies as a manager of public policy. Effective October 1, 2000, the OCCMHA no longer handles direct services and only manages supportive services, said Richard Visingardi, Executive Director.
