Illinois Department of Corrections Overhauls Early Release Program

Randle said the department planned to overhaul its prison release program by adopting an integrated approach to crime risk and detention. The key point of the overhaul—implementation of a standardized set of validated risk and needs assessment instruments for use in the system.
