March 6, 2006 Only 25% of Minnesota Child Care Centers Offer High Quality Care Only 25% of Minnesota's licensed child care centers in a recent study offered high quality care. Four percent offered substandard care, and the remaining 71% offered care that met minimal thresholds. Centers providing high quality care tended to shared several characteristics: a high proportion of staff with bachelor's degrees, higher wage scales related to education levels, accreditation, formal curriculum use, and affiliation with a multi-service agency.
