New Jersey Auditor Finds Medicaid FFS Overpayments & Glitches
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News The New Jersey Office of the State Auditor found $13 million in fee-for-service (FFS) Medicaid overpayments made from 2007 through 2009 for hospital and pharmacy services provided to people who were or should have been enrolled in one of the stateÂ’s Medicaid managed care organizations (MCO). The majority of overpayments were the result of inadequate screening of identification numbers on the stateÂ’s Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) that resulted in multiple numbers being issued to some beneficiaries.
