March 13, 2006 New York Crossings Recovery Systems Clinics Enter Receivership On February 23, 2006, the State of New York took control of nine substance abuse treatment centers operated by Crossings Recovery Systems (CRS). CRS operating certificates had been suspended and CRS was fined $6.9 million after a December 2005 investigation after complaints about the clinics. A patient advisory was issued March 3, 2006 to inform Crossings Recovery Center patients of the changes and that the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) would assist them in relocating to other clinics and treatment centers.
