March 21, 2005 New York to Make Permanent Assisted Outpatient Treatment Law On March 8, 2005, New York Governor George E. Pataki introduced legislation that is to make permanent the state's Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) law. The measure, known as Kendra's Law, was first enacted in 1999 and was scheduled to expire on June 30, 2005.
