March 28, 2005 Georgia Hospital Launches Telemedicine Program On March 8, 2005, Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge (Georgia) announced that it has launched a telemedicine program. The program is a network of computers, high-resolution cameras, and a special grouping of telephone lines that makes patient examinations possible regardless of distance between patient and physician. Physicians will be able to evaluate patients through the machine's stethoscope and other medical apparatuses.
