Hospital CIO Salary Averages $208,417 In 2012

In 2012, chief information officers (CIO) in hospitals in the United States earned an average salary of $208,417. Annual CIO salaries were $254,054 at multi-hospital systems and $125,573 for CIOs at critical access hospitals. Across all industries, CIOs earned an average annual salary of $182,210. The findings were reported by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) in its annual “CIO Compensation Survey” report.
