April 9, 2001 Forest Laboratories Aiming to Market Escitalopram for Depression Treatment On March 26, 2001, Forest Laboratories Inc. announced that it submitted a new drug application with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market Escitalopram for the treatment of depression. Ken Goodman, President and Chief Operating Officer of Forest Laboratories, says the new anti-depressant drug is more potent than the company's drug, Celexa.
