April 11, 2005 Ontario Public Service Union Issues Recommendations to Halt Closure of Regional Centers for Disabled On March 24, 2005, the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) (Cabada) issued recommendations to Community and Social Services Minister Sandra Pupatello in order to halt the closure of three Regional Centers for the developmentally disabled. The government is scheduled to close the centers in September 2005 in order to better allocate available resources. The facilities include, Huronia, Rideau, and Southwestern Regional Centers.
