Getting Out & Staying Out: New York Prisoner Reentry Program Has Three-Year Recidivism Rate of 10%

OPEN MINDS On-Line News Social Services In March 2008, Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO), a New York-based prisoner reentry training program started actively promoting replication of its career planning program, which has helped young men incarcerated at Rikers Island transition to the community with only a 10% recidivism rate over three years. The overall recidivism rate for former inmates at Rikers Island is 66%.
