SAMHSA Proposes A $3.3 Billion Budget For 2014—Restoring Sequestration Cuts With Only A 1% Decrease
The federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) proposed a $3.34 billion 2014 budget, compared to $3.36 billion in 2013 or about 0.6% less. The 2013 figure is the amount of funding provided by the Continuing Appropriations Act through March 27, 2013; it does not reflect the five percent cut required by sequestration (which cut $168 million from SAMHSA spending between April 1 through September 30, 2013.)
