May 8, 2006 Care 1st Health Plan to Buy Watts Health Foundation's UHP Health Care HMO for $30 Million The board of non-profit Watts Health Foundation, Inc., voted on April 10, 2006, to sell its UHP Health Care health maintenance organization (HMO) for $30 million to the for-profit Care 1st Health Plan. The terms call for Care 1st to pay $30 million for Watts Health HMO contracts with providers and 80,000 members,and to donate $500,000 to the foundation.
