Consumer-Driven Health Plan Beneficiaries More Educated, Healthier & Wealthier Than Traditional Health Plan Beneficiaries
The 21 million people in the United States covered by a consumer-driven health plan (CDHP) are more educated, healthier, and wealthier than people covered by a traditional health plan. CDHPs generally consist of high-deductible health plans (HDHP) with either a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) or Health Savings Account (HSA). About 12% of people in the United States are covered by a CDHP or an HRA or HSA-eligible health plan.
