May 23, 2005 Susan Ford Bales Appointed Chairman of Betty Ford Center In March 2005, the Betty Ford Center announced the appointment of Susan Ford Bales, daughter of President Gerald R. Ford and Betty Ford, as chairman of the addiction treatment hospital. Ms. Ford Bales will be responsible for continuing gender-specific substance abuse treatment at the hospital.
