Texas DFPS Working on Foster Care Redesign
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Childrens Services The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is redesigning its foster care services model. In January 2010, it started a contract with Chapin Hall of the University of Chicago and the PDF Group, LLC, to create the model. Chapin Hall, with American Humane, is compiling information from a variety of sources to analyze outcomes for children in the system, the process of care, service quality indicators, and system capacity. The final recommendations on an overall system design plan will be made by December 31, 2010, and presented to the legislature . . .
