29 States Interested in Operating High Risk Insurance Pools; 18 States Opt-Out
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News On May 10, 2010, federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a solicitation for proposals for states to operate temporary qualified high risk insurance pools for people with pre-existing health conditions. Proposals are due June 1, 2010; awards are expected by July 1, 2010. HHS will contract with the states or with private non-profit entities.
