In 2013, the unemployment rate among individuals with disabilities age 16 and older was 12.9%; in 2008, the unemployment rate among this population was 9.3%. During both years, the unemployment rate among individuals without disabilities was 6.9%. In 2013, of the total 28.9 million non-institutionalized persons with disabilities in the United States, approximately 15.6 million (53.4%) were between the ages of 16 and 64.
