June 4, 2007 Congress Considering Medicare Mental Health Modernization Act of 2007 On March 23, 2007, House Representative F. Pete Stark and 37 co-sponsors introduced House Resolution 1663, the Medicare Mental Health Modernization Act of 2007; the bill is currently under consideration by the Committee on Ways and Means and the Committee on Energy and Commerce. The bill would establish equal coverage for mental and physical health treatment under Medicare so that both have the same 20% copayment for services.
