Medicaid Community First Program Offers States A New HCBS Option

On May 7, 2012, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released final rules for the Medicaid Community First Choice (CFC) State Plan Option—a second option for states interested in providing expanded home and community-based services (HCBS). The CFC option does not replace the current 1915(i) HCBS Waiver program but is an alternative.
