June 7, 2004 Pennsylvania Physicians Group Proposed to Run MCP Hospital On May 17, 2004, Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell and U.S. Senator Arlen Specter announced a joint proposal that the physicians of the Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP) in Philadelphia run the acute-care hospital as a not-for-profit corporation.
