June 12, 2000Troubled-Plagued Rescare Bids for Work In Ontario; Is Ordered to Turn Over Receivership of Nine Supported-Living Homes in New Mexico United States group-home operator ResCare, under scrutiny in four states, is seeking government contracts in Canada and nine of its supported-living homes have gone into state receivership in the State of New Mexico. Toronto newspapers reported on that ResCare Inc. has submitted proposals to operate young-offender facilities currently run by Ontario's Ministry of Community and Social Services, which are being privatized. Meanwhile, criminal charges have been filed against several ResCare staff members . . .
