June 25, 2007 Georgia Shifts Mental Health Prevention Services to Public Health Department The Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR) recently moved mental health prevention activities from the Division of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases to the Division of Public Health (DPH). According to DPH director Stuart T. Brown, M.D., the physical location and departmental responsibility shift enables greater alignment and collaboration between existing prevention programs and services.
