New VA Pilot Mobile Health Program To Provide 1,000 Family Caregivers With iPads

The federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is launching a pilot mobile health program that will provide 1,000 caregivers with iPad devices and health care applications to facilitate home care for veterans. The iPad applications will be integrated with VA data systems to allow the exchange of health-related data between the VA, the veterans, and their caregivers. Primary caregivers enrolled in the VA’s Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers program will be invited to participate, and the final participants will be randomly selected in the summer of 2012.
