June 30, 2003 Minnesota-Based Children's Home Society and Family Service Merge On June 13, 2003, two non-profit organizations, the Children's Home Society of Minnesota (CHSM) and Family Service, Inc., (FSI) announced a merger to create “Children’s Home Society and Family Services.”   CHSM and FSI believe that combining forces in today’s environment is the best strategy to provide stability for program development that will meet existing and emerging social needs.
