CMS Awards Medicaid Balancing Incentives Grants To Mississippi, Georgia, Missouri & Iowa
On June 13, 2012, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that four more states had been approved for Medicaid Balancing Incentives Program (BIP) awards. Georgia, Iowa, Mississippi, and Missouri join New Hampshire and Maryland as BIP grantees. The BIP funding is intended to help states working in partnership with community-based provider organizations to develop community-based systems of long-term care services and supports (LTSS) for older adults with disabilities, as well as LTSS for individuals with behavioral health disorders, physical disabilities, or intellectual disabilities.
